2010 TEEN RETREAT

The 2010 Teen Retreat was such a blast! Being among other disciples and people who share the same faith as you is such a wonderful place to be. Surrounded by unconditional love and friendship, there was no other place that I would have rather been that weekend. The theme “Rock Solid” still resonates with me from day to day. Luke 6:47-59 talks about how we need to have a 
foundation that is firm and deeply rooted in Christ. The three main points that Mack and Zoe underlined in their message were: Dig deep, lay a foundation, and be prepared for the storm. Matt’s message on “Lasting Foundation” signified the equal importance of having strong relationships with God, Christians, and Non-Christians. It exemplified that we should use our talents and passions to serve God in spiritual ways, to encourage others and support them in the race you are running together, and to comfort, serve, and talk to people just like Jesus did in Mathew 9:35-38. The three visions we concluded with were: to have a vision of Humility, of Love, and of Surrender.
I made a personal goal to put more trust in God and let Him lead me through life according to His will. I hope all the teens were just as inspired as I was to continue to have deep foundations so that we may one day be with Christ!
