2012 NW Winter Rally
This past weekend, the Seattle teens headed south over the snowy passes to meet with ministries from all over the Northwest for our second annual Winter Rally in Sunriver, Oregon. If you haven’t ever been to a Winter Rally, you probably can’t fully comprehend exactly what happens there. It’s a weekend where teen leaders take a step into the background and teens are encouraged to lead. And I don’t mean “lead” in just a spiritually-focused sense (although that’s certainly part of it); they’re meant to cook their own meals, clean their own lodges, and entertain themselves as they see fit (!).
Clearly, you can see why this sort of weekend is not for the feint of heart.
The pictures contained herein are but a sampling of the things that occur in Sunriver: singing, worshiping, praying, preaching, Bible studies, sharing meals, Minute to Win It, kidnapping, pranking, and, of course, wrestling. Seeing the Seattle teens lead in these things was very, very inspiring. We got to hear from a multitude of song-leaders, as well as lessons from Sarah Lutz, Tucker Brumley, and Drew Tacher.
All in all, it is safe to say that it was a physically exhausting and spiritually fulfilling weekend. Witnessing God’s working power through the lives in the Northwest teen ministries will be something to look forward to for years to come!
