Our 2013 NWYC (Northwest Youth Camp) was a huge success! Teens and counselors from all around the northwestern United States and western Canada made the drive out to Rathdrum, Idaho to attend our annual camp, themed “Identity”.
Our hope and goal was to communicate the message God wants each of us to hear about who we really are, while dismantling the lies the world tells us about ourselves. We spoke about the truth of God, the truth of the Bible, the truth of Jesus, and the truth of the church. In the mornings the high schoolers gathered for a series of videos on apologetics (meaning the defense of the Christian faith, not saying “sorry”) while the middle school had classes taught on the same subject.
On top of deep, meaningful discussions and lessons, we had tons of fun! In the lake, we had the “Blob” from which you could launch each other in the sky; on the hill, we had a long, steep, crazy slip-and-slide; and elsewhere, we had anything from sports to crafts to water-balloon wars.
Thanks to all who came and to all who organized it! It was truly a time worth remembering.
