Michael Burns, a teacher from the ICOC, will be coming to join us the weekend of April 12-14th. He will be leading special training on diversity. His topics will include discussions such as how the church should think about modern race issues, how the kingdom of God engages with race, and how diversity affects church dynamics. His training will be based out of his book “Crossing the Line” (available from IPI in paper, kindle, and audio format). There is no registration necessary but please see the information below as each session is targeting different demographics:
Friday Night, April 12 at 7pm:
“Race & Culture: Jesus’ example in the Gospel, the church, and our communities”
UW Seattle – Kane Hall 120
We are encouraging this to be an outreach event. The topic is set to engage a broad audience, Christian and non-Christian alike. Please bring your families and your friends for some inspiring preaching on a difficult topic.
Saturday, April 13 from 10am-3pm:
“Crossing the Line Workshop”
Seattle Church of Christ, Queen Anne
This is a 3-part workshop for disciples on how to approach the topic of diversity. While everyone is welcome, the topic will be approached from the common-ground of Biblical discipleship and will be taught specifically for members of the SCOC. There will not be childcare or lunch provided (a 45min lunch break will split the sessions.)
